Gone are the days of the doomish 'to-do' list, say hello to the 'I did it' list!

If you are feeling a little overwhelmed by everything that's going on at the moment, we can assure you, you are not alone. It's hard to feel productive when the world is at a standstill, and it is completely normal to let the “I am not doing enough” thoughts creep in. But it's time to introduce yourself to some positive practices, so say hello to the 'I Did It' List.

We switch on our social media and immediately compare ourselves, and our progress, to that of others. But just remember, small steps are still steps!
If you are struggling to fill your days, and feel that you are lacking a sense of achievement, try and change your mindset. Allow yourself to appreciate all that you have already done! Grab your favourite pad and pen and make a list of the little tasks you've conquered.

You can celebrate the small wins

See our range of writing journals here.

By writing down each little accomplishment throughout the day, no matter how mundane, you will feel more content and in control! Even if it's something as small as putting your clothes away. If it's something that you'd thank someone else for doing, why not celebrate it yourself? And if it's something much bigger, like completing a project, that's great too. There's room for it all on the 'I Did It' List. Allow yourself to celebrate the victories, big and small!

It will keep you organised

Take a look at our favourite Diaries here.

Not only will this help you feel motivated, but it should hopefully give you a clearer vision of your goals too. Instead of looking at the day ahead with dread and fear, contemplating all you have to do, take each step as it comes and reflect on your productivity at the end of the day.

It Can Reduce Stress

As previously mentioned, the stress and pressure we put on ourselves to get X Y and Z complete is truly unhelpful! It increases stress instead of helping you to stay organised. The fear may even manifest and make you less productive! By concluding all that you have achieved at the end of the day instead of conducting an unachievable list at the beginning, you will realise how much you can get done without feeling like you are in a pressure cooker! Just take your time, and enjoy the process.

It Makes For A Mindful Evening

When you are writing down all that you have achieved in your 'I did it list', why not make an evening out of it? Run a bath, light a candle and start journaling. Journaling can seriously reduce stress and help your mental health, the act of writing something down and allowing your mind to switch off has a multitude of benefits such as; Stretching your IQ, boosting memory, improving communication skills, sparking creativity and even helping your self-confidence.

Helping You Have A Better Nights Sleep

Ending the day away from the evil blue light of our phones and computers will reflect on your night's sleep! Reading a book or writing down an 'I did it list' will allow your body to naturally slip into a lovely and long nights sleep where you can reflect and unwind on the day just gone, and hopefully look forward to the day ahead.
