There is a real sense of Liverpool pride running through the city as many independents are owned and ran by locals! With the current climate it's time to celebrate everything that our wonderful city has to offer. From Bold Street to the Bluecoat Chambers, to the Baltic Triangle check out our favourite shops, bars, cafes and restaurants to explore for when they re-open or see what they have to offer online or for takeaway.


1. Bold Street Coffee

Bold Street Coffee is home to award-winning speciality coffee perfect for a morning pick me up, breakfast with friends or a late lunch. With a delicious menu suitable for vegans, veggies and those who will eat it all! There is always a selection of great music playing on the record player, so kick back, relax and enjoy! Bold Street Coffee are currently open for takeaway so make sure to check them out.


2. Ropes and Twines

Ropes and Twines are another one of our wonderful neighbours on Bold Street! With a glorious selection of coffee and wine, what is there not to love? They source and serve the highest quality products from all over the world so pop in and enjoy a little sanctuary away from the hustle and bustle when they re-open. They have currently created amazing festive hampers that you can order online for delivery in the meantime.


3. Mattas

Mattas really is a supermarket like no other; it sells food from all around the world and has been on Bold Street for around 30 years! With weekly recipes to discover and explore on their Instagram and website, why not give one a try! Go in-store and stock up on all the deliciousness you could ever need, they are now offering delivery too!


4. Mary Mary Floral

Mary Mary Floral is a contemporary independent florist, based in the historic Bluecoat Chambers, full of colour and vibrancy, inside you will find seasonal and dried flowers! There is a weekly changing fresh flower selection so make sure you go and check it out! Available to order online for local delivery or collection.


4. Cafe Tabac

Café Tabac can be found at the top of the hill on Bold Street and has been around for more than four decades! This little location is the longest-running café bar in Liverpool, still independently owned! Café Tabac has an extensive and delicious menu so go along and treat yourself to a breakfast that is served 12 hours a day! This place is less about counting calories and more about comfort food! And we defiantly counting down the days until we can enjoy Rita's breakfast again.


5. Leaf

Leaf can be found between 65 and 67 Bold Street as well as on Smith Down Road and it is known for its boho-chic interior with a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. As the name suggests, Leaf is popular with tea drinkers, but don’t let that put off the coffee lovers out there. Leaf offers a delicious menu of popular coffees and each one can be enjoyed alongside a tasty selection of breakfast, brunch and lunch options. Another one to add to your list of 'must visit' when their doors re-open.


6. Mother Espresso

Mother Espresso can be found on Wood Street and is home to some stunning minimalist coffee flavours and interior inspo. From the classic cappuccino, americano, espresso or flat white, there is something here to cater for everyone. The extensive brunch menu is also a must when visiting Mother Espresso. A must-visit when their doors are back open.


7. Botanical Garden Liverpool

The Botanical Garden is Liverpool’s answer to a fabulous and spacious gin garden, which satisfies all the summer vibes you could ever want! Located in the Baltic Triangle you can enjoy some tasty pizza and delicious frosty drinks. You won't be disappointed when their doors re-open.


8.Thoughtfully Cafe

Thoughtfully Cafe is located on Cleveland square and has all the coffee, cake & cheese toasties you could ever want! With both outdoor and indoor seating available, they are perfect if you're in the mood for gooey brownies and delicious coffees. Currently closed but are definitely one to remember for when they re-open.


9.Maray

Maray can be found on either Bold Street, Dockside or Allerton and is definitely one of our all time faves! With the most delicious selection of small plates, Maray is perfect for dining al fresco, or perhaps grabbing a table inside for cocktails! They are currently closed but are available for delivery and collection.


10. 92 Degrees Coffee

You can find 92 Degrees Coffee in several locations across Liverpool, from Jamaica Street, Hope Street, Myrtle Street and even on Lord Street in Southport. Whether you want to go along and enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while you watch the world go by, or perhaps take home some of your favourite flavours with easy-to-follow brew guides and hassle-free subscriptions to make your day that little bit easier, 92 degrees has it covered! You can buy their amazing coffee online, until you can get your in person fix!


11. Skaus

The long-awaited Skaus now have their permanent home on Allerton road with their newly opened store & cafe. Inspired by Scandinavian culture, seasonal cooking and Scouse hospitality, the local lads at Skaus have spent the last few years hosting pop-up dining events and restaurant residencies whilst creating quite the hype. They are currently open during the current lockdown with an amazing selection of craft beer, bakes, fresh veg and takeaway coffee. We can't wait to enjoy their creations!


12. A Slower Space

A Slower Space is a stunning lifestyle store located just on the very famous Penny Lane. Full of amazing plants, blooms, coffee and homeware they are definitely worth a visit! Plus they are dog friendly! They are currently closed due to the current lockdown but can be visited online for delivery.


13. The Wild Loaf

The best donuts and brownies in town! Full of amazing sweet treats that are available for collection or delivery, it's safe to say that The Wild Loaf fully has you covered during this current lockdown. I mean just scrolling through their Instagram is enough to get those tastebuds tingling! Fresh baked goodies... you just can't go wrong!


14. The Dog House Penny Lane

A dog-friendly bar and restaurant situated on penny lane! They are currently offering drought delivery on wheels! There's no need to be missing the pub when you can have freshly poured pints delivered straight to your door. The Dog House Penny Lane can be delivered anywhere with a 2 miles radius and are currently delivering on weekends! However, you have to be quick as they fill up fast.


15. Root Houseplants

Full to the brim of beautiful plants, Root Houseplants are not one to be missed. All plants come with helpful guides on how to look after your new foliage friends. With shops located in the Bluecoat Chambers and West Kirby, they are worth a visit! They are currently trading online for delivery and collection.
